It celebrates the life and enduring musical legacy of Turlough O'Carolan
The O’Carolan Harp Festival and Music Summer School held annually in the picturesque village of Keadue, County Roscommon, and which celebrates the life and enduring musical legacy of Turlough O'Carolan (1670–1738), will be launched on Wednesday next July 2 at 8pm in Kilronan Castle.
Often referred to as Ireland's national composer and the "last of the Irish bards," O'Carolan's contributions to Irish traditional music are immense, with over 200 of his compositions surviving to this day.

The O'Carolan Harp Festival and Summer School was established in 1978 in Keadue to commemorate O'Carolan's life and work. This annual event, traditionally held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, has grown into one of Ireland's longest-running and leading festivals dedicated to harp and traditional Irish music.
The O'Carolan Harp Festival and Summer School runs from July 28 to August 4. This year's festival promises a vibrant celebration of Irish traditional music, with a strong emphasis on the harp, alongside a diverse range of classes, concerts, and cultural events for all ages and skill levels.
