Having already existed for 20 years, this year is the first time when the Streete Vintage Show is over an entire weekend, rather than a single day. A new committee was selected in January 2025, which meant that the committee had a tighter deadline to make this event have plenty to offer.
“Organising this would usually take eleven to twelve months,” said chairperson, Eamonn Campbell, “but a new committee had to be formed so it was crammed into 6 months. There are five members on the committee.”

The vintage show is to celebrate 75 years of Volkswagen, with the main sponsor being Mullingar Autos, a car dealer that is Ireland’s leading dealer when it comes to Volkswagens and Skodas.
“The all-vehicle run on Sunday evening is in memory of absent friends,” continued Eamonn.
“Starting off on Friday evening with social dancing in Streete Parish Park with music by Stuart Moyles. Saturday is an all-vehicle charity run. Sunday is going to be the show day–live music from Patrick Feeney, Lauren McCrory and Carragh Lynch.
There will be a special display of Volkswagen vehicles through the years. There is also lawn mower racing with the NILMRA lawn mower association. A display of vintage tractors, steam and stationary engines will also be there. For the kids, a funfair with Hudson’s Funfair will also be there.”

The lawn mower racing is brand-new to the festival, giving the Streete Vintage Club much more to offer than previous years. It hopes to bring so much more than previously, even if the committee had time constraints. The array of entertainment for the wide ages, as well as the varied interests, has been accommodated for.
There is also an all breeds dog show included in the weekend. There is also said to be a jiving competition, offering more than just a car display.
After such a successful show last year, celebrating 60 years of the Massey Ferguson 100 series which had seen crowds travel from all over Ireland and the UK, club members went on the hunt for a milestone to celebrate this June.
The weekend will take place from June 27 to 29, being the first of its kind since launching in 2002. Registration for the Saturday all-vehicle run in the hall from 3pm and the run leaving at 4pm. Routes will be posted on Facebook. Camping is also available on the site all weekend but must be pre booked by contacting James or Eamonn.

It is a family event, so it is open to everyone, even if they are not car enthusiasts, as the committee has made sure to offer something for all to enjoy. There will be trade stands, stone crushing displays, steam and stationary engines, thrashing and square baling demonstrations, a food village and much more to see.
Tickets for Sunday can be bought from ClubSpot website for the Streete Parish Park Vintage Show at €12.50 online but cash tickets are €15 per person. The park is in Co Westmeath. It is an unmissable event and highly recommended.
