Two hundred youngsters take part in Longford Community Games County Art and Model Making Finals

Aoife Lee, from Killoe, winner of the Longford Community Games Girls U-12 Model Making with her creation entitled ‘Hurley’.

The Longford Community Games County Art and Model Making finals exceeded expectations with over 200 participants aged from U-8 through to U-16 from twelve areas.

The budding artists emerged from their area competitions where they had to rise to the top locally before being put forward to represent their Community games area into what is a hotly contested County Final.

Community Games is not all about playing sport, it is also about culture with art, music, talent which includes art and model making. It gives the children a great sense of achievement adding to their confidence. With participation numbers increasing year on year, the competition is also getting stronger.

The prize for winning the final is that seat in the National finals in Limerick coming up in May.
