2024 marked the 25th Anniversary of Dromard’s dramatic 1-10 to 1-8 victory over Abbeylara in the replayed county SFC decider at Pearse Park.
The side was captained by Cathal Conefrey and man of the match was Paul Jones. The drawn encounter ended in a scoreline of Dromard 1-7 Abbeylara 0-10. It was Dromard’s first county senior triumph since 1946. The club subsequently won the Sean Connolly Cup again in 2005 and ‘07.
In honour of their 1999 achievement, the Dromard squad and management team were introduced to the crowd at half time during the 2024 Abbeylara versus Colmcille senior County Final.
