Grow Mental Health are delivering their Community Education Programme in the Longford Arms Hotel, 25 Main Street, Longford starting Wednesday May 3rd.
These promise to be a hugely informative series of talks which will be focused on giving the community a deeper insight into better mental health. All are welcome to attend the events over the four weeks -which are free.
This year will see the former Governor of Mountjoy, John Lonergan lead off as he shares his own insights into living and a happy and fulfilling life, together with Caroline Crotty - Psychotherapist.
May 10th will explore the topic of suicide alertness in the community which will be delivered by the National Office for Suicide Prevention-speaker Brian Jones -HSE Officer for Suicide Prevention.
The following week (May 17th.) will see renowned nutritionist, Cathriona Hodgins speak on the role of food and diet in mental health.
Award winning Psychotherapist, Brian Walsh will explore the concepts of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), on May 24th for people across the community. Overall, the series of talks aim to deliver a holistic exploration into the ever-important topic of mental health.
As it is a community based programme, all are very much welcome to attend. It recently ran in Mullingar and Tullamore and was a huge success. With that in mind, the Grow team will be hoping to replicate its accomplishments in Longford."
