The broken wall at Bishopsgate due to storm damage

Longford Town FC Supporters Club have started a fundraising campaign to raise funds to rebuild the wall of our home, Bishopsgate with the following statement:

‘The devastating effects of Storm Eowyn was felt throughout our Town, county and wider Midlands hinterland. Our own home at Bishopsgate did not escape the damage.

‘The north perimeter wall of our ground suffered extensive damage just weeks before our new season was to begin. But Longford people did what they do best. They rallied and ensured that in a time of need - we stand as one.

‘The outpouring of sympathy and support was clear for all to see. All the while, the club ensured that our first home game and every home game since could take place on the Strokestown Road.

‘The next step stands before us now, as we at the Longford Town Supporters Club begin a journey to rebuild our wall and restore our ground to its former glory.

‘We aim to bring back the magic that transformed it into one of the finest sporting stages in the League of Ireland, a field of dreams for countless boys and girls who will cheer on their heroes in red and black.

‘We cannot do this without your generosity, and kindly reach out to you on the iDonate platform to contribute towards this endeavour. We cherish every single euro that you donate and promise to utilise it diligently and effectively in our road to recovery.

‘Together, we can reclaim our ground, rebuild our wall and write a new chapter of glory in the heart of Longford.’
