Storm Éowyn inflicted considerable damage to a perimeter wall at Bishopsgate stadium, the home of Longford Town Football Club, on the Strokestown road.
The following is a statement from Longford Town FC:
‘The club wish to advise that our stadium suffered damage at the hands of Storm Éowyn last Friday morning.
As a result of this, the ground is currently not safe and we advise people to please refrain from visiting Bishopsgate.
For health and safety reasons, no unauthorised access is allowed to any part of the ground.
Please note the club will not accept any responsibility for any injury or damage whatsoever caused to unauthorised members of the public.
A further update will be provided when necessary.’
