Shelbourne midfielder Aodh Dervin is on his way back to his former club Longford Town in a loan deal.
In a big boost, Longford have secured the services of Dervin ahead of the First Division season kicking-off this weekend with the Town in action against Athlone at Bishopsgate this Saturday night, kick-off 7.30pm.
The midfielder made 30 league appearances for Damien Duff’s Shels last season, 19 of them starts, and while he wasn’t always first-choice in the midfield sector for the Dublin club he did start in the FAI Cup final against Derry City.
Dervin, 23, was promoted into Longford’s first team squad under Alan Mathews in 2017 and was signed by Shels at the start of last season.
