RIP: Local nurse and talented bridge player was renowned for her kindness and compassion

The late Teresa Maguire, Hillside drive, Mullingar, Westmeath / Arva, Cavan

The death occurred on Tuesday, July 29 at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar of Ms Teresa Maguire, Hillside Drive, Mullingar and formerly from Cordownan, Arva

Teresa went to England in her youth to study Nursing and after she qualified she spent most of her life as a Nursing Sister in Mullingar Hospital. 

She was highly regarded by the staff in the Hospital for her kindness, compassion and importantly for the quality of her work.

Teresa was a very quiet lady but liked nothing better than a game of Bridge where she was a popular and long time member of Mullingar Bridge Club. 

Teresa was predeceased by her brothers Jim, Pat, Vincent, Aidan, Bernard, sisters Mary, and Alice and is survived by her sisters Mrs Helen Clarke, Mrs Anna Rose Mc Donald, brothers and sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends to all of whom we extend sincere sympathy. 

Her remains reposed at Gilsenan’s Funeral Home, Mullingar with Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coronea followed by Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. 

Her Month's Mind Mass will take place this Saturday at 3pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coronea followed by burial of Ashes in the family plot.
