One of the more recent events to be added to the schedule of the Maria Edgeworth Festival of Literature and Arts is the extremely popular 'Mostrim Laughs Out Loud - Open Mic' night which takes place in The Sportsmans Inn on Friday, May 10, from 9:30pm.
This is a social gathering which will take on a life of its own with no limits as to who can take the microphone and perform their talent. It can be comedy, a singsong, a trad session, poetry, dance, juggling or whatever you want it to be.
The host on the night is Jimmy Connell aka 'Jimmy Jests' and musical accompaniment will be provided by Peter Costello (Peters Garage Sessions).
There is already a wide variety of acts pencilled in but there is always room for more, so if you want a great night out with even better entertainment then this is the show for you.
Jimmy issued an open invite to performers: “If you or someone you know would like to grab the microphone on the night then contact me on 087-2891726 or by email to jimmyjests@gmail.com, or if you decide just to show up on the night then that's fine too, we will welcome everyone, the more performers the better the fun.”
