Met Éireann predict snow tomorrow morning in Longford
Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning covering Longford and surrounding counties.
The Low Temperature/Ice warning issued by the metrological service covers Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Munster, Connacht.
The Met Éireann statement says: “Very cold this evening, tonight and on Tuesday morning with severe frost and icy stretches. Coldest over southern half of the country.”
The weather will have impacts that include difficult travelling conditions, low temperature issues for vulnerable people, and animal welfare issues.
It is valid from 18:00 today (Monday, January 15) to 11:00 tomorrow (Tuesday, January 16)
The Mét service says the cold conditions will continue throughout the week: “Arctic air will bring winter hazards this coming week. Sharp to severe frosts expected with icy stretches on roads and pavements.
“Some sleet or snow will occur at times too, mostly for northern areas, and especially for hills.”
