History Book launch goes down a treat with locals in Drumlish

Literary enthusiasts from throughout Drumlish/Ballinamuck and Longford county, gathered at the Drumlish community centre on Thursday, May 2, for the launch of the Drumlish Heritage and History Society Drumlish/Ballinamuck History book.

“We had a great turnout. Hopefully this will be the start of something bigger,” Annette Kane explained.

The book was officially launched by Dr Mel Farrell who commended the committee of eight behind the book, for what he described as a very different and unique structure.

The book is now for sale in Drumlish and the surrounding areas at a cost of €30 for hardback copies and €25 for paperback copies.

The Drumlish Heritage and History Society will also launch their website in the coming weeks, where the book will be also available for purchase.
