Hundreds of participants are due in Ballinalee this weekend to take part in series of events.
Four hundred children are expected for Comortas Cluain Bhronagh with a weekend of community, fun, Football and Rounders.
This May bank holiday weekend will see 24 teams from around Ireland descend on the Village of Ballinalee.
A huge GAA event is set to draw in teams from Westmeath, Sligo, Laois, Dublin, Leitrim, Cavan and Meath.
As the only rounders club in Longford, it will host this national event as the first national rounders tournament of 2019.
Over the two day Big Hello community event there will be an U12s Football tournament and on the Monday U13’s girls and U13’s boys National rounders tournament. We are inviting everyone from the village to attend as we will be providing free tea, coffees and refreshments to welcome and promote community in Ballinalee.
Supported by Longford County Council this event allows all ages to come together as in one place, at the heart of our community, Maguire Park.
Micheal Lynch, Clonbroney minor club chairperson said “it will be a mighty event, and we are proud to host it. We have great support from parents, children and the community which really will make for a special weekend in the eyes of the all children playing and taking part.”
