The theme for Bealtaine this year is very apt - Be our Guest - celebrating civic engagement, participation , hosting, hospitality and generosity as we grow older.
The programme runs throughout the month of May and this year Longford has a huge and diverse range of events from music to poetry, gardening and dancing, memory workshops and much more in various locations across County Longford.
The 2019 Bealtaine Festival will step into action with an afternoon of music, song and dance hosted by Newtownforbes Active Retirement in the Longford Arms Hotel.
Madeline Bennett Chair of Newtownforbes Active Retirement said; “We are delighted, in partnership with Longford Older Persons Network and Longford Library to be organising the opening event of this years Bealtaine Programme.
“We are looking forward to welcoming people from all the Active retirement clubs and nursing homes in the county as well as any individual who would like to come along and enjoy an afternoon of music, laughter and good company and of course we will be providing some refreshments also.”
