Roadworks in operation so expect delays today and for the next few days

Longford County Council is to inject €1.7 million into road restoration and surface dressing in the Ballymahon Municipal District.

A total of €349,450 has been set aside for local and regional road surface dressing in 2019, while €1,364,442 has been earmarked for local and regional road restorations in the coming year.

Councillors in the Ballymahon Municipal District welcomed the proposed works with open arms, and agreed that the schedule of works presented by area engineer Paul Newell should be adopted.

Cllr Mick Cahill was particularly delighted to see that €41,301 has been set aside for road restoration along 121 metres of the L1098 outside the school in Ardagh, as he had submitted a notice of motion proposing repairs to the road, which is currently in poor condition.
