Members of Lanesboro's Lough Ree Angling hub showcased the county's tourism potential in front of 5000 of the country’s top fishermen and women at the National Angling show in Swords in Dublin last weekend.
Hub Chairman Andy Burnett and secretary Philip Gordon spoke to anglers at a stand taken out by Roscommon Tourism - in the first part of a 3 part plan that will see the county’s top angling spots promoted in Dublin, Manchester and Farnborough in the UK next month.
“We made a proposal to Longford tourism and Roscommon county council and they embraced the plan to promote our fantastic fishing,” said Philip Gordon.
