Punters back Longford's Sharyn Ward into 9/2 from 11/2 to win Ireland’s Got Talent

Longford singer Sharyn Ward.

As the hopefuls continue to book their places in the next round of Ireland’s got Talent, there is one act who already has BoyleSports customers on her side.

Sharyn Ward, a proud traveller from Longford, was initially installed as an 11/2 shot to win Ireland’s Got Talent after she impressed with her rendition of Stand By Me by Ben E. King, but then blew everyone away with her take on Finbar Furey’s ‘Sweet Sixteen’ which bagged her a full house of ‘Yes’ votes from the judges.

The aunt to Love/Hate star John Connors has since been backed into 9/2 after a flood of fresh support rolled into BoyleSports. It was revealed that Sharyn was persuaded to audition by IGT presenter Lucy Kennedy after she heard her singing during a visit to Connors’ home on her other show, Living With Lucy.

Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented: “We have seen most support come in for singer Sharyn Ward resulting in her odds shortening into 9/2 from 11/2. It’s clear the whole of Longford are behind her with some large bets coming from that area, and it would be true to say she is currently the punters’ pick to win Ireland’s Got Talent.”
