The new offices of the North Longford and Arva Credit Union were officially opened on Saturday last by the President of the Irish League of Credit Unions Mr Charles Murphy.

Also present was Mr Gerry Thompson, Vice President of the League.

There was a huge attendance and a wonderful atmosphere not alone around the Credit Union but also throughout the town.

Mr John Duffy acted as MC for the event and Fr Donald Hannon CC and Rev Hazel Canon Hicks blessed the building.

Following the closure of the Ulster Bank on Main Street it was a great boost to see the Credit Union purchase the building.

The Credit Union staff and committee wish to thank everyone who attended and assure them of the Union's best efforts on their behalf into the future.

The Credit Union is online now for transactions and are always happy to welcome new members.

The staff were delighted to have a visit from MEP Ms Marian Harkin on Friday afternoon.

Opening hours in Arva are as follows – Monday /Tuesday / Wednesday / Friday 10 am to 4pm. Saturday 1pm to 5pm.
