There are calls this week for the current medical card system to be abolished
Longford County Councillor John Browne has called on the County Council to write to the HSE and to the Minister of Health, Simon Harris, in regard to the current state of the Medical Card Application System.
Cllr. Browne stated that there is a "serious need to scrap the current system", elaborating that it is "completely antiquated" and "not fit for purpose".
This topic is one of many set to be discussed at this month's meeting of the County Council, which will take place next Wednesday.
