Stranded and abandoned vehicles a problem as a number of Longford roads are impassable
A number of roads across County Longford are blocked by heavy snowfall and are impassable.
Longford County Council and the Gardaí are advising motorists to avoid these particular areas and to also avoid any unnecessary journeys as the Red Status weather alert remains in place up until 6pm today.
A number of stranded and abandoned vehicles are also contributing to the blockages.

Robinstown Road, Granard
R397 road to Longford at Terlicken
R397 Between Terlicken and Barry Junction impassable
Lanesboro to Lehery Road - R392
A number of local roads in the Legan/Carrickboy area - blocked.

Gardai are asking motorists to avoid the R397 road to Longford at Terlicken. The road is impassible due to a number of stranded vehicles
