All Shook Up - Church to host 'Elvis Service'

After getting the opportunity to play her first principal part in a St Mel’s Musical Society production as Alice Beineke in ‘The Addams Family’ last year, and excelling in her delightful performances, Valerie Nolan (nee Sheils) returns to Backstage Theatre in the role of Sylvia in ‘All Shook Up’.

The beautiful trained voice of Valerie continues to entertain the local audiences and for many years she has been recognised as one of the best vocal performers in Longford, starting back in the mid-1980’s when she appeared in the ‘Tops of the Town’ variety show competition.

Tickets are now on sale for ‘All Shook Up’ (featuring the songs of Elvis Presley) which will ‘rock and roll’ in Backstage Theatre for a total of nine performances, opening on Friday March 31 and running until Saturday April 8.

Concessions are available for the matinee on Sunday April 2nd (3pm) and also the 8pm shows on Monday and Tuesday March 3 and 4 next.

As always, early booking is advised for the annual St Mel’s Musical Society production. Booking through the Theatre Box Office: 043-3347888 and on line Tickets also available at Farrell Coy.

The annual flag days collection took place on Friday and Saturday last and well done to the members of the committee and cast who were out on bucket collection duty for this important fundraiser.

Thanks to the Longford community for their usual generous support.
