Irish parents warned as SHEIN recalls over 150 products across Ireland amid strangulation fears

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission has issued a nationwide alert to parents across Ireland as major online retailer SHEIN recalls three different products, with over 150 units sold in Ireland, amid fears of choking and strangulation.

A safety issue has been identified with a Soother Holder sold by Shenzhen Beimei Household Products Co., Ltd on SHEIN marketplace.

The risk associated with the product is strangulation. The soother holder is too long, which may lead to strangulation of a child.

The brand is Unknown. The type/number of model is tw03. The batch number is Unknown. The barcode is sa2409116296789668.

There are approximately 10 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

A safety issue has also been identified with a Plush toy – Electronic Puppy sold by a third-party seller (Magic Brothers Toy Store) on SHEIN marketplace.

The risks associated with the product are choking and strangulation. The toy contains small parts (nose, bell, metal element of leash) that can easily detach. A child can put them in their mouth and choke. The puppy’s red ribbon is too long and can lead to strangulation.

The brand is unknown. The type/number of models is 667-2. The batch number is unknown. The bar code is sl2311262284392222, PB2503140218865.

There are approximately 73 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

A safety issue has been identified with a Plastic Giraffe sold by a third-party seller (Haimengguo Toy Store) on SHEIN marketplace.

The risk associated with the product is choking. The toy contains small parts (legs suction cups) that can easily detach. A small child may put them in the mouth and choke.

There are approximately 79 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
