Customers are being warned to stop using the impacted products immediately and to keep them out of the reach of children
Consumers across Ireland are being advised that leading retailer Penneys has recalled hundreds of baby soothers following the discovery of a choking risk.
In a public notice, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says the impacted products are a 2pk Baby Bear Soother Clip and a 2pk Balloon Soother Clip.
"The products present a choking risk. The products are not fully compliant with the relevant safety standards specific to soother clips," reads the notice.

The 2pk Baby Bear Soother Clip barcode is 5397338449973. The 2pk Balloon Soother Clip barcode is 5397257874849. The 2pk Baby Bear Soother Clip has Kimball no. 69489 and the 2pk Balloon Soother Clip has Kimball no. 80010.

According to the CCPC, there are approximately 114 affected products of the 2pk Baby Bear Soother Clip and approximately 459 affected products of the 2pk Balloon Soother Clip.
"The products were sold in Penneys/Primark stores in Ireland between June 2025 and August 2025 (Baby Bear) and between March 2025 and September 2025 (Balloon)," reads the notice.
What to do:
Customers who purchased either of the impacted products are being advised to discontinue use immediately and to keep them out of the reach of children.
Any of the impacted products can be returned to any Penneys/Primark store for a full refund.
