‘A double-edged dagger’: Shocking Traitors twist leaves Faithfuls in tears ahead of final

Will the Traitors steal it all or will the Faithfuls get to share he prize pot? Fans will have to wait until the final episode on Tuesday September 23 at 9:35 pm to find out

As The Traitors Ireland enters its final week the latest episode saw a new Traitor be blackmailed by Nick, Amy murdered and the mission saw the biggest twist of the series yet that left the roundtable in tears.

The Faithfuls' winning streak is truly gone as the group once again banished a Faithful, this time a tearful Joanna, who upon her departure wept: “You’re all mean girls and I’m a faithful.”

Her banishment was welcomed only by Traitor Nick and his newly recruited counterpart Ben, both of whom escaped the roundtable without a single vote or accusation towards them.

The girls however are all devasted having led the campaign to vote Joanna out, Vanessa, who first brought her name to the roundtable, and Kelley are the most upset.

Following the banishment, Kelley tearfully reflected: “To Joanna, I want to say I’m sorry, I hate thinking she’s left the game with a sour taste in her mouth.”

The speculation around Joanna began at breakfast from a misunderstanding about whether Joanna asked Oyin and Vanessa why did they not vote for Faye at the previous night’s roundtable.

Tensions between the Faithfuls continued to grow in the mission which saw the players take to a ruin on the top of Slane Hill, where the players were tasked with extinguishing the torch of the player they trust least while the others remained blindfolded.

Joanna is the only person who has all three of her flames put out, she then correctly guessed two of the three players who sinched her torches adding another €2,000 to the prize fund.

As she was voted least trustworthy, host Siobhan offered her a ‘consolation prize’ of either a shield from that nights murder or a dagger that gives its holder two votes at the next roundtable.

She is tasked with selecting one to keep and one to give to one of the other players, she chose to keep to dagger and gift the shield to fellow Faithful Kelley.

Following one of the most intense roundtables of the series that saw Faithful fight Faithful, while the Traitors just sat back and watched, saw Vanessa, Oyin, Kelley and Faye all accuse Joanna of being a Traitor.

Kelley who wrote down Joanna’s name after she had gifted her a shield at the roundtable said to Joanna: "I'm sorry but you've lost it for me, if you murdered Amy, I'm glad you gave me the shield because I feel like it's kinda like an I'm sorry - you will be getting my vote but thank you for the shield. I live another day." to which she Oyin and Vanessa all snickered.

Ultimately the power of the dagger was not enough to save her and Joanna received the most votes and left the castle.

Later in the conclave, Nick remark to Ben that the game is “ours to lose" as the pair are currently not under suspicion from any of the remaining Faithfuls as the final approaches.
