Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic incident close to Edenderry in County Offaly.
The early-morning incident, involving a crane and two vans, occurred on the R401 at Drumcooly at approximately 6:15am this morning.
Gardai have confirmed the driver of one of the vans, a man aged in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the other van, a man in his 30s, was brought to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore where he is being treated for injuries which are said to be non life threatening.

The road from Clonbullogue to Edenderry is currently closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators with local diversions also put in place.
A garda spokesperson added that the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and that it will conduct its own investigation.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses of the incident to contact them as soon as possible.
Any road users who have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in the area between 6am and 6:30am this Wednesday morning are being asked to make the footage available to investigating gardai.
