Here comes the sun! Met Eireann pinpoints 21 degrees with a turn for the worst later

Met Eireann weather forecast

Good news for now as Met Eireann announces 'plenty of sunshine' and dry weather forecasted for Ireland following nationwide yellow weather warnings that hit recently.

On Wednesday May 21, it will be dry and sunny with highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees.

Another sunny day on Thursday May 22, as Met Eireann says it will be "bright and sunny from early morning with plenty of dry weather too."

"Cloud will push in from the west later in the morning however but it will stay dry through the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees with a northerly breeze," said Met Eireann.

Heading towards the weekend, Friday May 23 will start out mainly dry with "good sunny spells" with an over cast of clouds later in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures will be between 16 to 21 degrees with northerly breezes.

On Saturday May 24 the weather will start becoming rather unsettled with rain spreading in from the west from morning and turning heavy at times too.

The rain will clear east later in the day with scattered showers following.

Highest temperatures will be between 15 to 19 degrees in freshening southwest winds.

On Sunday May 25 Met Eireann said that current indications suggest another unsettled day with showers, possibly widespread and little in the way of any sunny spells.

Temperatures are likely to drop too with highs being much cooler than recently at just 12 to 15 degrees.
