A Garda officer has been treated in hospital following a public order incident in Dublin.
A man, aged in his late 30s, was arrested on Abbey Street in the city centre on Saturday afternoon.
A Garda spokesperson described a public order incident which happened around 1pm.
“During the course of the incident, a member of An Garda Siochana received injuries to his arm, believed to be non-life-threatening at this time,” they said.
“He was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital for treatment.
“A man (aged in his late 30’s) was arrested at the scene, and is currently detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin City Centre area.”
They said investigations are ongoing.
