A file is due to be sent to the Coroner’s Court after a post-mortem examination was completed today, Tuesday, February 25 on the body of a man discovered in Cork.

Gardaí in Midleton have commenced an investigation following the discovery of a body in Co Cork on February 24.

Shortly after 4pm, gardaí responded to a report of an incident at a residential property in Broomfield West, Midleton, where an adult male who is understood to be in his 60s, was found unresponsive.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

An adult female who was also present was treated at the scene and transported by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
