Specialist gardaí are excavating the garden of a house in Letterkenny, County Donegal amid reports that human remains could be located at the site.
A team of detectives and officers from the technical bureau began an operation at the house at Leck Cottages in the Oldtown area.
A mini digger was moved into the site as detectives began a dig of the garden.

Sources suggest that the remains believed to be on the site are of a historic nature.
The homeowner was given prior notice of the operation. The investigation is not connected to the current owner of the property.
Following a tip-off, gardaí moved in at first light on Wednesday morning and the property was sealed off.
