A man is appearing before Portlaoise District Court this morning in connection with an alleged "attempted abduction" of a woman.
The incident involved a woman out exercising on a rural road in Eyne, Portlaoise, on Friday, April 26.
Laois Gardaí carried out door to door enquiries following the report, and last Saturday evening, May 11, they charged and arrested a man.
The case will be heard in court on Monday, May 13.
A second incident involving a woman out walking in the nearby Killeen area was also reported to Gardaí on Saturday evening. Gardaí confirmed to the Leinster Express/Laois Live that this is also under investigation.
