The late Sarah McNally
Tributes have poured in ahead of the Funeral Mass of Sarah McNally, who was murdered in New York, which takes place in St Mel's Cathedral, Longford today.
Sarah died at age 41 from a stab wound to her neck, after being attacked at her place of work in The Céilí House pub in Maspeth, Queens, by her boyfriend.
The attack occurred on Saturday, March 30 at approximately 6.30pm.
Sarah's funeral is taking place in her native Longford town today, after hundreds of people gathered to attend her wake last night.
Ms McNally, who came from a well-respected family in Longford, will be cremated at a private ceremony after her requiem mass in St Mel’s Cathedral in the town.
Sarah is sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her loving mother Dorrie, dear father Des, grandmother Kathleen O’Connor, aunts, uncles, relatives, extended family and a wide circle of friends in Longford and New York.
Since the tragic news broke out, tributes have been pouring in for Sarah.
"Rest in peace my beautiful niece Sarah, we are heartbroken, Love you always," said Sarah's aunt alongside a picture of her nice.
"I offer my heartfelt sympathy to Sarah's parents granny relatives and friends on her devastating and tragic death. Words fail to express the sorrow I feel for you all on this heartbreaking loss I have such fond memories of the beautiful Sarah from when she worked with us away back she was a joy to know. Sarah look after your loved ones from your heavenly home and send them peace and strength in the sad times ahead Fly high with the angels Sarah and rest in eternal peace," wrote a former co-worker in tribute.
