'Man to watch': New solicitor welcomed to Longford District Court

Adrian Gillick was praised as a huge addition to the legal profession and a man to watch
There were ringing endorsements for a new solicitor who was introduced to Longford District Court last week.
Adrian Gillick, a native of Killinkere, county Cavan, graduated from Maynooth University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Civil Law Degree with a double major in Law and Business.
He joined the Baxter Mimnagh Solicitors Team in August 2022 and he commenced his Solicitor Traineeship in December 2023.
Solicitor Frank Gearty welcomed solicitor Adrian Gillick to court for the first time and he said the practising solicitor who had worked in Longford town for several years has a great career ahead of him.
"He is a huge addition to the legal profession and he is going to be a man to watch."
Mr Gearty said Adrian's parents Sean and Breda and his girlfriend Willow were present in court to support him.
"The staff from Baxter Mimnagh have came in as well, which gives a real endorsement of how popular he has been in his place of work when he was with them.
"He has moved in more recent times in with John Anderson and Aoife Kelly and George Lynch and company."
Local solicitor Bríd Mimnagh said Adrian has a very human side to him.
"He loves the fun and he loves socialising and he has a great way with his colleagues and the staff and it's a testament they are all here and the office is closed."
Mr Anderson said Adrian had joined their practice last September as an 'excellent addition' and he is 'very hard-working, diligent and he is a credit to his parents, while Sergeant Mark Mahon, on behalf of An Garda Síochána also welcomed Adrian.
Judge Bernadette Owens said she was delighted to welcome him into court on a 'very proud day for him, his parents, family and his girlfriend' who were supporting him, while court clerk Maggie Curley wished him good luck on behalf of the court staff.
