Have you missed the canvassers this year? Do you want to meet your local candidates before Polling Day? Well, then pop along to Backstage Theatre tomorrow, Friday, where candidates for the Longford-Westmeath constituency will answer your questions and outline their plans if they get elected.
Longford Women’s Link and Longford Women’s Manifesto Group, in conjunction with Out-Take Media are organising the event which will give local people a chance to see where their candidates stand on the issues that matter in the coming election. It takes place from 10.30am to 1pm.
“This is the latest in a series of hustings previously run by LWL for the 2011 General Election and the 2014 Local Elections.,” Noirin Clancy from Longford Women’s Manifesto Group told the Longford Leader.
All election candidates from across the constituency have been invited to participate in a panel discussion which will be chaired by Sheila Reilly, Editor, Longford Leader. Those who have confirmed their attendance include: James Bannon, Gabrielle McFadden, Connie Gerety-Quinn, Robert Troy, Manchan Magan, Paul Hogan, Mae Sexton, Barbara Smyth, Dom Parker and Donal Jackon.
Noirin concluded: “This event is open to the public and is a great opportunity for people to decide who they will give their number 1 to! Registration is not necessary.”
