Specifics of the call were not shared publicly, but Cllr Nolan told the meeting that she had phoned the executive about the call in question
Councillor Peggy Nolan called for an emergency special meeting on housing during a recent sitting of Longford County Council, citing the occurrence of an “exceptionally disturbing phone call” she had received hours prior to the meeting.
While the specifics of the call were not shared publicly, Cllr Nolan told the meeting that she had phoned the executive about the call in question and had relayed to them the details regarding the incident.

Thanking the executive for their “speedy action”, Cllr Nolan said they were “exemplary in their quick action.”
Opting to keep details of the incident out of the media for now, the Fine Gael councillor added that she would speak with her fellow council members individually about the phone call she had received, adding “What happened today and what I was made aware of, was something you wouldn’t see in a third world. It was taking total advantage of this local authority so as far as I’m concerned, we have to have an emergency housing meeting.”
