The Longford Variety Group’s 'Who’s That Behind The Mask' was a sold-out success with Cllr Kevin Hussey, who is Vice Chairperson of the Group, saying that there were over 300 people in the Longford Arms Hotel on Saturday night.
The esteemed judges were Cllr Peggy Nolan, Fr Michael McGrath and legendary musician Sean Hussey.

It was the 27th show in the illustrious 30 years history of Longford Variety Group and they have raised over €300,000 in that time. As the years have progressed, the shows have become more expensive adding to the necessity to organise fundraisers.
“It is extremely difficult to do fundraising,” explained Cllr Hussey, who was among the 'Who’s That Behind The Mask' organisers.
“Longford Variety Group is all-year-round with planning to get on stage. We really appreciate the sponsors, as well as the public coming to support our productions year in year out. Without them, the group would not be able to give so much back to charity.”

Glancy Enviro was the main sponsor on Saturday, and other sponsors included Protrans, Spice India, Spirit Clothing, Conor Sheridan plumbing,Micheál Carrigy TD and Kevin’s Dry Cleaners.
Among the performers who donned a mask were Cllr Gerry Hagan and Longford Rose Sara-Lee Greene. And the amazing winners were Lisa Lynam (audience vote) and Joanna Rosney (judge’s vote).
Peelo School of Dance had a ten-minute Michael Jackson segment, performed by Chloe Brady, Triona Mulryan and Evelina Orlovaite and this received a standing ovation.

'Who’s That Behind The Mask' was planned over eight weeks , with proceeds going towards Longford Variety Group's November show. And the funds raised there go to local causes.
