Join the C.R.E.W Community: A social network for Creative, Resourceful, and Empowered Women of Longford and beyond.

Are you eager to connect with a vibrant community of creative and culturally curious women in Longford? Meet the C.R.E.W Community.

We invite you to join local women Anna D. Atkinson, Sadia Athar, and Eileen Moynihan, as they unite their skills and voices to foster a community that nurtures creative women and raises awareness of issues affecting women both locally and globally.

Women artists, crafters, writers, and creative practitioners of all genres, nationalities, ages, and abilities are encouraged to connect. Whether you're a beginner, professional, or a creative in hiding, everyone is welcome.

You also don't have to be from Longford to join.

"Our C.R.E.W is happy to welcome women from neighbouring hidden heartland counties," Anna said. "If you're visiting from further afield, come along and share what you're working on. We’d love to hear about it and perhaps even support you somehow."

Established in July 2024, The C.R.E.W Community held its inaugural social gathering on August 10, 2024, amidst the beautiful surroundings of Longford Garden Centre.

C.R.E.W was born out of a spirited conversation about the need for a local women’s group that not only nurtures creativity but also provides a safe space for women to communicate, express themselves creatively and campaign for social, environmental, and economic sustainability.

Initially a collaboration between artists Anna D. Atkinson and Sadia Athar, the core team has since welcomed local writer and poet Eileen Moynihan to help lead and develop C.R.E.W into the future.

The women meet regularly to socialise, share skills, support each other’s projects, engage in creative and cultural activities, campaign for change on issues that matter to them, and enjoy some fun along the way. No comparisons, no judgement, just
joy—and very often a little coffee and cake to sweeten the creative journey.

Love is at the heart of what C.R.E.W is about.

"We believe that what connects us is much more powerful than what divides us, and that is love," Anna said. "Whether it’s a
love of the arts, creativity, and culture, a love of nature, animals and our planet, or a love of family and community, love is at the heart of all that is good and kind, and meaningful. That connection is what inspires and motivates us."

C.R.E.W has an engaging schedule of workshops, day trips, adventures, and retreats planned. If you'd like to be part of a vibrant community of creative women in Longford, come join us.

Our next day trip is on Sunday, June 29th. For more details, DM our Facebook page @thecrewcommunity or email us here: thecrewcommunitylongford@gmail.com
