Longford ladies rallied bravely and fought back to draw level with Kildare during their Lidl National Football League Division 3 Round 1 clash in Devine Park, Edgeworthstown on Saturday, however, a Nessa Dooley goal deep in stoppage time gave the Lilywhites a dramatic victory.

Longford trailed by eight points at the interval, 0-4 to 2-6, and their great revival, boosted by goals from Aisling Greene and Sarah Shannon, saw them level proceedings at 2-10 apiece by the first minute of stoppage time.

Longford, who missed a lot of scoring chances, particularly in the first half, lost Michelle Farrell to a second yellow card in those action packed stoppage time minutes before Dooley, with her second goal, sealed the win for the Lilywhites.
