Under the guidance of Irish snooker legend Fergal O’Brien, Shannon produced a solid and composed performance throughout the event showcasing exceptional potting and safety skill. He faced James Stewart O’Reilly of Dublin in the final, where he delivered a convincing win to take the title.

The occasion was made even more special as Joe received his winning trophy from one of the greatest players of all time Ronnie O’Sullivan who commended Joe for his superb cuing action.

The victory rounds off an impressive couple of days for Joe who played on Saturday, in the national under 16 competition in Carlow, Joe had a very successful day. During the event, he dropped just one frame across the day and recorded a high break of 75. Shannon has now reached the final and will now look ahead to that, which will be played during national finals weekend in June at snooker and Billiards HQ in Carlow.
