Longford's Emma Brennan sparkles in Scotland and brings home gold medal
Emma Brennan put in another excellent performance on Sunday to take victory in the U17 1500m Steeplechase at the Scottish Championships in Grangemouth.
In a close race, she showed her strength to move clear of the field and claim top spot on the podium.
Congrats to Emma who has one race left in what’s been a long, but successful, track season when she lines up in the 1500m at next weekend’s Community Games National finals.
Fiona Gettings took to the start line at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg on Saturday for the 5000m at the World Masters Championships.
It was a high-quality race featuring top athletes from five different continents.
Fiona gave it her all over the 12-and-a-half laps running strongly to finish in a superb eighth place. One of Longford’s most talented ever sportspeople, well done to Fiona who continues to excel.
