10th in Europe as Longford’s Darragh Greene just misses out on a place in the 200m Breaststroke Final

Longford’s outstanding athlete Darragh Greene came so close to securing a place in the final of the 200m Breaststroke at the European Aquatics Championships in Belgrade on Wednesday evening.

Darragh finished fourth in the first semi-final in a time of 2:13.42 and 10th overall in just missing out on a second appearance in a European Final in the aftermath of his magnificent 7th place finish in the 100m Breaststroke the previous evening in Serbia. 

Greene closed out his 2024 European Aquatics Championships campaign after competing in his first individual European Final on Tuesday and will now head to Rome to race in the Sette Collie event this weekend.

Limerick’s Eoin Corby shaved a full two seconds off his morning swim (2:13.74) in the second 200m Breaststroke Semi-Final, advancing to the Final in fifth place after clocking an excellent 2:11.62.
