Connaught Juvenile Indoor Championships
The 2011 Connaught Juvenile Indoor Championships are scheduled for the first weekend (Saturday/Sunday) in March in Nenagh. A wide range of track and field events are scheduled in the various age groups. Further details are available next week at Juvenile training.
The club has published a newsletter which provides information regarding registration, upcoming fixtures and training times for various groups and contacts. The newsletter is available at the weekly juvenile training sessions or from a club committee member.
Little athletics takes place at 7pm every Friday in the Mall Sports Complex. This is a programme designed to address the physical requirements of children and it focuses on introducing the fundamentals of athletic movement in a fun, exciting and non-competitive environment. This event is proving very successful with numbers attending increasing weekly.
Juvenile Athletics Training
Juvenile athletics training (ages 10 – 16) takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a start time of 7pm at St. Mel’s college. The training session will last for 1 hour. Middle distance training will take place this week. If you are interested in joining the club, please turn up on the night and contact a coach. As always, we encourage parents to get involved in this training session.
The Fit4Life group meets every Tuesday and Thursday night at the Computer Clinic, Lower Main Street, Longford at 7pm sharp The Fit4Life programme is suitable for beginners through to regular runners.
The emphasis is on meeting with people of similar ability on a regular basis. For further information, please contact Liam on 087-2683650.
Annual club subscription for 2011 is now due. Registration forms are available from the coaches at the various training sessions.
It is critical club members complete these forms with payment as this includes insurance for all athletic club events and the annual subscription to the Athletic Association of Ireland Please note these forms much be completed and registration fees paid.
