Memory Mass for the late Mrs. Mary Lissie Kilbride, Aughakilmore will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church in Purth on this Friday evening, December 4th at 7pm. Please note that the Friday evening Mass in Granard will be 8pm in St Mary’s Church and not the usual 7-30pm. May Mary Lissie rest in peace.

Table Quiz

Granard Area Action Group Ltd. are holding their annualTable Quiz in Fay’s Bar on Friday, 4 December at 9pm. This is well established event and always an enjoyable night. Granard Area Action Group are sponsors of the local Community Employment Project that takes in the parishes of Abbeylara Granard and Mullinalaghta. The annual Table Quiz helps to defray costs of sponsoring the project. As this is the only public fundraiser held during the year the group will greatly appreciate the support of all local community groups and sub-sponsors.


Congratulations to Caithriona Brady, daughter of Tommy and Annie Culray and Anthony Reilly, son of Francie and Geraldine, Cornadrung who were married in St. Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe on Friday last and who were joined by family, friends and neighbours for a lovely reception in The Park Hotel in Mullingar. We join with the Reilly and Brady families in wishing the happy couple a long and happy life together in their beautiful new home in Cartronmarkey.


We extend deepest sympathy to Maggie Lapczynski and family, Granardkille and Bunlahy on the recent death of her father Wladyslaw which occurred in his native Poland. Mass for the deceased was offered in St. Mary’s in Granard on Saturday last. May he rest in peace.


Clonfin Commemoration Committee will hold their annual church gate collection at all Masses in Granard on this Saturday and Sunday, December 6th and 7th and your support will be greatly appreciated.


Tickets for the Ballymore draw remain on sale and your generous support will be greatly appreciated.

Tickets for the Ballymore monthly draw remain on sale and it is hoped to hold the first of the twelve monthly draws in the coming weeks, so all sellers are encouraged to have all returns with the committee on or before December 10th next. A total of one thousand three hundred euro in prizes every month, so make sure your name is in the drum.
