Residents of Forgebrook Drive, which is an area of Kilnaleck Road in Ballinagh, are very annoyed, as for the past two weeks, the area has been short of public street lighting. Now with the dark winter evenings, local families are experiencing the disadvantage as adequate street lighting is essential and provides the local community with a sense of serenity and safety. It is hoped that the problem will be pursued by the resident authority as a matter of urgency.
A major Boxing Tournament will take place in the Community Centre on Friday, November 27th with the first boxing tournament for 9pm. Proceeds are in aid of the Ballinagh Christmas Lights Fund and the public are asked to kindly show their support.
Blood donors are reminded that a mobile unit from the Blood Transfusion Service will be in attendance at St Brigid’s Community Centre, Loch Gowna on Thursday next, 17th November and on Wednesday, 18th November between the hours of 4:30pm and 8pm.
The annual meeting of Ballinagh GAA takes place on Sunday, November 29th at 2pm in Ballinagh National School. All members please attend and new members welcome.
Congratulations to the Ballinagh U-14 Camogie teams who won the U14 Camogie final in which they gave an outstanding performance overcoming a very talented Drumgoon side on a magnificent victory, their mentors and team management are also worthy of praise and thanks for their hard work over the year in coaching and guiding the young players to success.
