Christmas Craft Fair in aid of St John’s parish funds is on in Currycahill hall this Saturday, 28th November. There will be lots of Christmas treats including gifts, jewellery, home baking and local craft. From 11am to 4pm
You are invited to a presentation on setting up a Community First Responder Scheme in Newtownforbes and surrounding areas on Thursday evening, 3rd December at 8pm in the Parish Hall, Newtownforbes. John Fitzgerald from Community First Responder Ireland will be giving the presentation on this new scheme. This service is training people life saving skills in Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack, Stroke and Chocking situations. This new initiative is Licenced under Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council and will be supporting our local Defibrillator groups as well as local Gardaí and the HSE under the National Ambulance Service. Calling on local businesses and craft people. The traditional Christmas will take place on Sunday December 6th from 2-5pm. Everyone welcome on the day. We will also have our unique live crib and switching on of Christmas lights. And of course Santa will arrive. Exhibitors are required to set up their own stall and have their own insurance cover. Troubled Bachelors, A three act comedy will be staged in the Thomas Ashe Hall on Friday 18th and Sunday 20th December. Tickets on sale at Ballinalee P.O., or may be booked by contacting Noirin at 087 2841564. Patrons can look forward to a great night out with plenty of fun and laughter.

Congratulations to James Fox, Soran who claimed the Leinster title at the recent Leinster Irish Dancing Championship held at the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth. James dances with O’Reilly-Mansfield School of Dance.
A poly-tunnel was recently erected beside the playground by the Tidy Towns. The committee are looking are looking for any unwanted gardening tools or planting pots. Any donations can be left into Farrell’s shop or into the post-office.
The next meeting is Wednesday, 2nd December from 11am to 1pm.
