The weekly lotto draw took place in The Hideaway on Wednesday, 8th July. We have two events taking place in Granard Library in July for children. On Tuesday 14th Under 8 year olds can look forward to Bunnyhop with Chris at 2.00p.m. One week later on Tuesday 21st also at 2.00p.m. Paint a Summer Picture with Nicolette will take place for 8-12 year olds. Booking is essential. The annual Rosie Run in aid of Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association ( IMNDA) will take place from Loch Gowna on Sunday 19th July commencing at 1.30p.m. Registration in the community centre from noon. We appeal to all to come out and support this worthy cause.
There will be two fun-filled, multi-activity sports camps at Mullinalaghta football pitch this Summer. Camp 1 is for 4-7 year olds and is running from Monday 10th to Friday 14th August each day from 10.30am – 2.30pm. Camp 2 will cater for 8-12 year olds and will be in operation from Monday 17th August – Friday 21th August from 10.00am – 3.00pm. Activities include a variety of sports but also other events such as Balloon Races, Treasure Hunt, Art, Crafts, Bouncy Castle and many more. Cost of either camp is €50 per child with 2nd, 3rd, 4th child only €40. All children will be fully covered by insurance for everything taking place. As part of their fundraising activities the local ladies football club are holding a weekly draw based on the bonus ball in the main draw of the national lottery. Sheets are on sale in the local post office or are available from any club member. Match the bonus ball in Saturday night’s main draw and you will earn yourself €20. Lines are just €2. Six monthly tickets are now due for renewal at €50 each by contacting Marie Matthews. Your support would be very much appreciated each week. The winning number on Saturday 11th July was 6, which proved lucky for three punters, Amy Brady, Jim McCabe and yours truly.
