Clonbroney Community Games

Thank you to Scoil Samhthann and the staff for undertaking the handwriting competition in school. Well done to all the children who took part, the entries are being judged as we speak and the winners will be announced soon.

Hard luck to the U13 boys futsal team who took part in the county competition last Sunday in Kenagh. They played well but lost to Mostrim. A big thank you to Michael O’Sullivan for training and managing them. The annual community games church gate collection takes place the weekend of 22nd/23rd March. All money collected goes to Clonbroney Community Games so please give generously. Friday night club continues this Friday night, the 14th of March from 7-8pm in the Thomas Ashe hall. Cost €2 per child or €3 per family.

Tidy Towns

Tidy Towns meeting this Thursday night, March 13 in the Thomas Ashe Hall. All are welcome to help with the Monster Auction which takes place on Saturday, March 29. Any items for auction can be dropped into myself or Padraig Farrell or at the hall on Friday evening, March 28 between 6 o’clock and 8 o’clock.


Congrats to Ciaran McEoin, Rossmine House, and Paula McGann, Killashee, who got engaged recently. We wish them well.


Numbers drawn were 7, 22, 27, 29. No jackpot winner. One match 3 envelope - Rose Sloan, Loch Gowna Post Office wins €60. Seller’s prize: Paul Glennon. Jackpot €9,900. Draw in Farrell’s for the month of March.


A sponsored head shave takes place on Saturday, March 22 in the Stag’s Head in aid of St John’s Ward, Crumlin. Monster draw on the night.


Ballinalee branch of Fine Gael AGM takes place this Friday night at 9.30pm in Farrell’s lounge. All members asked to attend, new members welcome. Local TD James Bannon will attend.


We are holding off the opening of the playground until the weather picks up to let the new turf set. The local committee will be holding the annual Easter Sunday night parish dance to raise funds to cover a shortfall in the development costs of the playground.
