Ttickets on sale for a raffle to be held on the 31st October. Tickets are only 1 euro each and are on sale in Rathowen stores. Prizes are as follows - 1st prize: hand crocheted quilt; 2nd prize: hamper, 3rd prize: set of 3 hand painted pictures in native American design. 4th prize: bottle of whiskey, 5th prize: hand embroidered tea cosy and various other prizes on the night. Jackpot 10,600 euro, no winner. The numbers were 8,9, 20, 28. Draw winners were V. Maguire, A. Macken and Colette Doyle. Sellers prize went to Max and Tom Nulty. Jackpot is now 10,700 euro and the draw is on the 28th October in Connaughton’s Pub.

Good luck to Betty and Avril Whitney and Ger Connaughton with the drama on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of November in the Community Hall. Well done to our school team who played well in their matches on Thursday last. Many thanks to all the parents who helped out.

St Lomans: Well done to St. Lomans on winning the Paddy Flanagan Cup on Sunday last. Congrats to Tom Lambden, who is a past pupil of the school. I hope we will get a visit from you all very soon with the cup. We would like to apologise for omitting Jenny Kelly from last weeks notes, Jenny is a member of the U-12 Clann Gael team.


Dates for your diary 1st, 2nd and 3rd of November, A Wake in the West, a play by M.J Ginnelly takes place in the Community Hall. The cast are hard at work practising at the moment. The play is a comedy and reports are that it is very funny. Not to be missed.
