Men’s Social Club: We have had two great days in the last couple of weeks as part of our celebrations for the Bealtaine Festival. Friday 24 May, together with friends, 40 of us made a trip to Belfast and the Titanic Exhibition. The sun was shining, Pat Donnely gave us a tour of the city and it’s various landmarks and we then spent the afternoon at the Titanic Exhibition. It was a fantastic day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Last Tuesday we had another great afternoon of stories, music and song. Part of the work of the group in the last while has been working with some of the students from Ard Scoil Phadraig collecting stories from group members and on the day the students and group members and volunteers read some of the stories and we had music and singing in abundance. We were also joined by Rosemary, Fiona and Majella from the Library as well as friends from St. Christophers’. Many thanks to Lucy and all concerned, including all the volunteers and staff. Our next meeting day is Tuesday 11th June at 12.30 and new members are always made very welcome. Contact Lucy at 043-6686309.
