School re-union

On Sunday September 27th next St. Patrick’s National Killeen will celebrate the 50th anniversary of it’s opening and Bishop Francis Duffy will celebrate Mass at the school at 3pm and there will be refreshments and a chat for all afterwards. Invitations have been issued to all past pupils so the committee really look forward to and encourage all to make a special effort to be in attendance and help to make this a very memorable occasion.


Ardscoil Phádraig are currently finalising their enrolment process for QQI Level 5 courses in Animal Care and Nursing Studies. These QQI Level 5 courses are suitable for both school leavers and mature students who wish to return to education and gain new skills or employment. They also provide links to certain courses in Universities and Institutes of Technology and can be worth up to 400 points. Please contact the school on 043 6686209 for further details


Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Fr. Joe King CSSP who passed to his eternal reward last week and was interred in the family plot in Granardkille cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Garden Show

We extend sincere sympathy to Kathleen Kavanagh, Coolcor and to her sisters on the death of their brother, Paddy Nally, Colamber which occurred in Mullingar hospital last week. May he rest in peace.

St Vincent de Paul

St Vincent de Paul are in a position to offer some financial assistance to 3rd level students whose course comes under one of the following categories. Under Graduate 3rd Level Education. New Baby

Congratulations to Eimear and Enda O’Hara on the birth of their second child - a girl last week. The new arrival is to be named Caoimhe Anne and she is a welcome sister for Aoibheann and grand daughter for John and Ann O’Hara, Muckerstaff.


Congratulations and well done to all our local students who received their leaving Cert results last week. We understand all are very happy so we wish you the very best as you start college life.


Ballymore football club held their monthly draw last weekend and the first prize of one thousand euro was won by James Brown while Kitty Behan, Michael Moore and Smith’s Garage, all won one hundred euro each. Next draw at the end of August.
