Easter ceremonies

The following are the Easter ceremonies arrangements in St Mary’s in Granard. Mass of the Lord’s supper on Holy Thursday at 8-00pm followed by adoration until midnight. On Good Friday assemble at Macken’s at 12 noon to carry the cross to the church. Celebration of the Lord’s passion and veneration of the cross at 3-00pm and evening prayer and reflection at 8pm. Holy Saturday Blessing of food with polish community at 12 noon. Easter Vigil at 8-30pm. Easter Sunday Dawn Mass in Granardkille cemetery at 5-15am and Mass in St. Mary’s at 9 and 11.30am. A very happy and holy Easter to all.

The Real McCoy

Killeen Dramatic Society will present their three act comedy ‘The Real McCoy’ on Easter Monday at 8:30 in Thomas Ashe Hall, Ballinalee. Proceeds of the play goes to “Longford Palliative Care”. The play will be supported by the John Dungan branch of CCE. The County Fleadh Cheoil will be ran in Edgewortstown by the Joe Callaghan branch of CCE on the 2nd weekend in May. Sincere and deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of the late Kathleen O’Connor whose death has taken place in New York. The late Mrs O’Connor was the former Kathleen Dolan from Coolcor and was sister of the late Frank and Tommy Dolan. May she rest in peace.

Country markets

As Friday is Good Friday the market will be held on Saturday from 9-00am to 12 mid day at Upper Main Street. We will celebrate Easter with a free raffle for all customers and Easter greetings are extended to all our patrons.
